Japan’s old capital Kyoto encompasses spiritual ambience around its many historic corners. Well-hidden temple sites, bamboo gardens, shrines and old alleys are alluringly lined with Ginkgos, Maple trees and Zelkovas (often used for Sake cups), which all flourish ideally due to Kyoto’s distinctive play of seasons. A true place of the old heart, in which many ancient traditions survived, the secludedness of some locations is one thing to behold, while the historic vibes in particular of quarters like Gion, Kennin-ji and Kamigyo create divine visual narratives.
